Gesture

Finding the Story of Your Pose

What makes a figure drawing speak to you? It’s the storyline- in other words, the GESTURE! In this workshop, we’ll work to make meaningful, those beginning impressions that carry the action of the pose and create the solid storyline that has your drawings speaking to you- and others! You’ll have to be fast and furious and ready to follow that action line!

The Figure In Motion

Energy to Expression

The Figure in Motion is a workshop geared for those who want to add life to their drawings, and urban sketchers who want to capture the essence of people on location. It begins with observation and an understanding of the figure, and ends with a trust of what your eye sees, your hand describes, and your heart feels. Our model who will hold no pose longer than 2 minutes - you’ve been warned! Be ready to sweat a little and draw a LOT.

Picture Making: beyond the figure

Experimental Play

Sometimes, it’s good not to have a plan and to let your mind and your hand wander. Come along for the ride in this experimental drawing workshop, Picture Making: Beyond the Figure. We’ll  explore the possibilities of creating a fantastic world from and around the figure. Find out how the language of drawing can expand your visual experience of figure drawing. Inject a little fantasy, and connect what the eye can see to what the mind can imagine!
